Chennai Sent COVID-19 Vaccine to Overcome Shortage in A.P.
In an attempt to overcome the shortage of COVID-19 vaccine in A. P, mainly Nellore and West Godavari, supplies are being rushed in from neighbouring state Tamil Nadu. “Two lakh doses of vaccine have been dispatched from Chennai and are scheduled to reach the State by the end of the day” as reported by officials in the A.P Health Department.
Revealing this to Frontline, A. P Health Commissioner, Katamaneni Bhaskar, who is in Vijayawada, said “As of April 8 we have three lakh vaccine doses in Andhra Pradesh. A further two lakh vaccines have been dispatched from Chennai and will reach us before the end of the day.” According to him, 10 lakh more vaccine doses will reach the State in between April 15 to 20.
