HC Gives Green Signal for ZPTC MPTC Elections Polling Begins Across the State
Earlier HC of Andhra pradesh issued interim orders to stay the election which is scheduled to be happened on april 8. later the SEC and the state government had filed a petition in the division bench of HC against the stay order given HC .Then the High court take back the stay order and has given green signal to conduct elections.
But the HC ordered to hold the counting of votes untill next orders. By this announcement ,Election staff made arrangements for early polling on Wednesday and the polling has finally began at 7 a.m and will continue until 5 p.m. 27,752 polling station has been set up for the polling across 13 districts.
6,492 of them are identified as sensitive polling stations , 6314 among them are hyper sensitive polling stations and 247 of them are naxal effected polling stations.In the wake of the Chhattisgarh encounter authorities were alerted and improved security arrangements in those polling stations. Polling will held upto 2 p.m in these areas
In 660 of ZPTC seats over the state, polling is being held on 515 seats and 2058 candidates are in the race. Polling is not being in held on 8 seats due to various reasons.
In the case of MPTCs, there are a total of 10,047 MPTC wards across the state with 2,371 were unanimous. A total of 18,702 people were in the fray for remaining seats.
