High Court of Andhra Pradesh Stays MPTC, ZPTC Elections Scheduled for Thursday.
AMARAVATI : The Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies(MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) elections which is scheduled on this thursday are restricted to conduct as per the interim orders issued by the High court of Andhra Pradesh.
By Hearing all the petitions filed by several political parties including Telugu desam party (TDP) , Jana sena part (JSP) ,Bharatiya janatha party(BJP) the high court passed the orders to stay elections. The petitions includes, according to a Supreme Court verdict, there should be four weeks model code of conduct before the polling.
SEC Neelam Sawhney issued the election notification on April 1 and announced the election schedule.The Judge noticed that in case the State Government issued a fresh notification taking into consideration the Supreme Court judgment on the mandatory four-week period of Model Code of Conduct , the court would give appropriate orders then.
Meanwhile TDP President N. Chandrababu naidu welcomed the stay orders issued by the high court on the notification issued by the state election commission (SEC).
