Pawan Kalyan padayatra in Vijayawada Benz Circle
For the first time in the last four years, cine actor and Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan has come on to the roads. As stated in his Kakinada Sabha, Pawan Kalyan organized the Padayatra, protesting the Centre’s decision of not granting the SCS to Andhra Pradesh. The Padayatra started from Benz Circle, Vijayawada, and continued up to Ramavarappadu Junction, covering a distance of about 3km. He along with the Left Parties took up a padayatra (walkathon) today demanding Special Category Status (SCS) as well as fulfilment of other provisions in the AP State Reorganisation Act. Pawan visited Ambedkar’s statue near Thummulapalli Kalakshetram and paid respects to BR Ambedkar. From there, he left to the Benz Circle. The Padayatra began at 10:30 AM and ended at 11:45 AM. On the whole, Pawan Kalyan’s padayatra is called a super success. As he hit the road for first time, thousands of Jana Sena followers followed him. Left party workers also came in big numbers. Pawan Kalyan blamed both the ruling party TDP and the opposition party YSR Congress lacking honesty in their protests for SCS. The CPI (M), CPI and Jana Sena leaders held a meeting in Vijayawada on the future movement in support of the special status and division guarantees for Andhra Pradesh.
