Andhra Pradesh seen a spike of COVID-19 cases yesterday
Andhra Pradesh has seen a spike of 3,495 COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours upto Sunday 9 am taking the overall cases past 9.25 lakh. The single-day spike is the highest since October 25.The new COVID-19 cases emerges from 31,719 tests,which is equal to number of tests performed daily in the last week. while Chittoor district topped the list reports highest in Andhra Pradesh, both in terms of new cases and deaths, it reported 719 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths. followed by Guntur added 501 and Visakhapatnam 405 cases.
East and West Godavari are the only districts that saw less than 50 infections; all others clocked more than 175 new infections each.all other districts reported more than 175 COVID-19 cases. meanwhile East Godavari and West Godavari the only districts to report less than 50 cases.
Although Chittoor, Kurnool and Guntur’s reported slightly less cases compared to Saturday, Anantapur, Kadapa, Nellore and Vizianagaram saw a spike in COVID-19 cases cases.After a gap of few weeks, the positivity rate again seen a spike of 6 percent with the spike in new infections.
And the recovery rate of COVID-19 Cases were more than Saturday .9 fatalities were reported in Andhra pradesh due to COVID-19 in past 24 hours ,over 9 fatalities chittoor reported 4 and one each in Nellore, Prakasam,Guntur, Srikakulam and Kurnool.
