According to the Meteorological Department, Velagapudi area received just 10 mm rainfall.
The Assembly building was inaugurated on March 6 2017 with the commencement of budget session for 2017-18.
It was constructed with an investment of Rs 180 crore. The government claimed that the new Assembly building
has features of UK Parliament and Kerala Assembly.
In the chambers of the Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, water was found leaking continuously
from the ceiling. Similarly, the Legislature Secretariat situated on the top floor could not escape from invading
waters. The files in the section were soaked.
Assembly Secretary K Satyanarayana Rao commented that “The damage was not only to the chamber of
